IA TV

Thought sharing was never so easy. Today we blog, podcast, and create videos to interact with the world.

Jan Jursa of Germany has sent me an interesting link to his blog called IA Television. It indeed is an innovative effort because it is a great attempt to bring all IA related videos into an unified space.

Here it is.

IA resources

Generally, I keep saving lots of links in my bookmarks. So many times, people new to Information Architecture / User Experience ask me to share the resources that I refer to.

I am writing this post for all new entrants to the discipline of UXD. All the best!

The basic usability fixes could be done by downloading and reading http://usability.gov/pdfs/guidelines_book.pdf and some creativity.

Some Good Websites

http://www.useit.com (Jakob Nielsen...for what it's worth. Some good stuff, though)

http://www.uie.com (Jared Spool's User Interface Engineering)

http://www.jnd.org (Don Norman's "Just Noticeable Difference" site--great excerpts from his books and papers)

http://www.uxmatters.com/ (UX Matters online magazine)

http://research.microsoft.com/adapt/ (MS's adaptive systems approach)

http://www.section508.gov/index.cfm (the U.S. government's Section 508 page)

http://www.iainstitute.org/ (The Information Architecture Institute--esp. this page: http://www.iainstitute.org/en/learn/ )

http://junkcharts.typepad.com/junk_charts/ (great blog about good and bad data visualization)

http://www.perceptualedge.com/library.php (articles by Stephen Few, who wrote "Information Dashboard Design," among other stuff)

UserXperience Blogs:

http://eleganthack.com/blog/ (Christina Wodtke, author of "Blueprints for Information Architecture")

http://blog.jjg.net/ (Jesse James Garrett, author of "The Elements of User Experience")

http://www.ok-cancel.com/ (the only UX-oriented comic strip I know of--hilarious!)

http://www.joelamantia.com/ (Keane's own Joe Lamantia's blog--very thoughtful!)

http://www.peterme.com/ (Peter Merholz, co-founder of Adaptive Path)

http://louisrosenfeld.com/home/ (Lou Rosenfeld, co-author of "Information Architecture for the World-wide Web" and now book publisher)

Reading these blogs as well as subscribing to listservs from the IA Institute, IxDnet, and others is how I stay up to speed with what the "industry" is thinking.
